isaiah2-web200hIsaiah
Facilitator: Pete Kopp
Room: Sanctuary

This class will study Isaiah and his prophesies. His uncanny style of epigrams, metaphors, interrogation, dialogue, and parables, inscribed some 3800 years ago place his writings among the most unique in all literature. His prophesying Christ’s death in Isaiah chapter 53 for example, has been called the most perfectly-balanced piece of literature known in the world. The International Standard Bible Encyclopedia states, “For versatility of expression and brilliance of imagery Isaiah has no superior, not even a rival.” The entire book of Isaiah (66 chapters) have been recovered in the Dead Sea Scrolls and impact our lives today in a brilliance of light and understanding in a darkened world. The book of Revelation would be impossible to understand had Isaiah not laid its foundation.

the-chosen-web200The Chosen
Facilitators: Connie Howie & Tami Brock
Room: 137

Being chosen by Jesus has beautiful and far-reaching implications - although it says even more about the Chooser than the choosees. We are loved because He’s love. We are saved because He’s merciful. We belong to the family of God because Jesus invites us, making the Bible and all its promises as true for us today as it was for God’s chosen nation.

What does it actually mean to be Chosen? To answer that question, we’re going Old school - Testament that is - which leads us back to the New. Which always leads us directly to Jesus.

This study is based on the Season 1 of the groundbreaking television series The Chosen which follows the life of Jesus. Make plans to join us and be challenged to connect to the Bible in a brand new way.

This study is ideal for those looking for an application oriented approach to Bible study. Special application questions at the end of each lesson will help you map out your personal action plan.

Alpha Featured Image Event - WebsiteAlpha – Pilot Group
Facilitator: Pastor Brian McDaniel
Room: 132 - Borglum

Alpha is an opportunity to explore life and the Christian faith in a friendly, open and informal environment. It will answer life’s biggest questions about Jesus, prayer, Holy Spirit, evil and many more.

Every Alpha session has three key ingredients: food, talk and discussion.

  • Food: Alpha is relational. Nothing builds relationships more like sharing a meal together.
  • Talk: Each week there is a talk (delivered in person or by video) that explores the basics of the Christian faith.
  • Discussion: After the talk is a time of discussion in small groups where guests can share their thoughts and questions.

An Alpha Pilot group is being launched beginning Wednesday, September 15 with the purpose of training up leaders to assist in running Alpha groups. Those participating in the pilot group are asked to commit 10 Wednesdays and to attend the Alpha – Holy Spirit Weekend beginning Friday, October 22 at 6:00 PM through Saturday, October 23 at 2:00 PM.

cave-web200Out of the Cave  FULL
Facilitator: Pastor Randy Brock
Room: 123

The same mind that can take us to places of great joy can lead us to deep valleys of despair. Just as we need help with a broken bone, we sometimes need help with a broken mind. This quarter we are offering a study based on Chris Hodges book, Out of the Cave. The subtitle of the book is “Stepping into the light when Depression darkens what you see.” We are often just a few steps from the best we’ve ever been.

Join us as we open God’s Word, lean into His voice, and together, step out of the cave. Because of the nature of this class we are limiting it to 15.
