Part 5 - A Cry for Encouragement

October 18, 2020 Speaker: Randy Brock Series: Crying Out

Topic: Encouragement Scripture: Hebrews 10:22–25, Jude 1:16, Romans 15:4–5, Hebrews 3:12, 2 Thessalonians 2:16, Ephesians 4:1–3, Colossians 4:6

We are living right now in an unprecedented time of overwhelming discouragement fueled by division. i.e. racial division, political division, spiritual division, emotional division and physical division It feels as though that many are adrift on a sea of criticism and dissolution and it seems that the world is intent on tearing one another down. The picture the Lord gave to me was that of a man drowning while pushing down the only thing that can save him.

Larry Crabb says: “I’ve never yet heard a father call out to his son in the final stretch of a race say, “You look tired,” “Why don’t you quit,” You’re in the back third of the field anyway,” “Maybe running isn’t your sport.” Yet people, even in the church will say, “When are they going to get their act together?” We are so guilty in private and sometimes in public of tearing people down, discouraging one another just like the world does.”
